Full Job Description

The Network Engineer will research, implement, install, develop, and maintain all network operations including routers, firewalls, switches, servers, and network facilities. This position will communicate upgrades, maintenance, and/or outages companywide. Responsible for the installation and maintenance of customers’ Voice/Data/IPTV services. Responsible for configuration and maintenance of switching equipment, FTTH Access and Ethernet Transport networks. Expected to work directly with customers to answer questions and resolve issues related to services offered. Knowledge of computers, network troubleshooting, and IP technology are required. Associates or bachelor’s degree in IT Networking or Computer Science preferred. This role requires excellent problem-solving skills and thorough knowledge of network administration and architecture.

Job Duties:

  • Design and deploy functional networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN)
  • Configure and install software, servers, routers, and other network devices
  • Monitor network performance and integrity
  • Create, oversee, and test security measures
  • Maintain complete technical documentation
  • Suggest improvements to network performance, capacity, and scalability
  • Research, implement, install, develop, and maintain all network operations including routers, firewalls, switches, access, servers, and network facilities
  • Responsible for installation, configuration, and maintenance of central office switching, FTTH Access equipment, IPTV, and Ethernet Transport networks
  • Provide information regarding products and services
  • Perform all other related duties assigned by management

Job Skills and Requirements:

  • Industry-related experience as a Network Engineer
  • Professional certification preferred (CCNA, CCNP, CCDP)
  • Solid background in network administration and architecture
  • In-depth understanding of communication and routing protocols
  • Familiarity with access control models and network security
  • Experience with network diagnostic, monitoring and analysis tools
  • Solid understanding of network operating systems
  • Sharp troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Organizational and mentoring skills
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve network issues
  • Good understanding of computer systems and other products and services
  • Good record keeping skills
